As evening gave way to the night sky, the sunset’s colors faded away to the next display. My heart could hardly take it all in as darkness covered the once lit sky. It was a cold brisk night and my eyes were drawn outward and upward. It was so spectacular that I didn’t want to miss anything. So in my pj’s and socks, I grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around me, opened the patio door to exit into the next reveal.
OH, MY GOODNESS!
What I saw could not be captured by camera. Only from my eyes to the heavens could I barely take it in. Against the backdrop of the night sky, the heavens revealed a star-studded show to which I had a front row seat. Stars glowing everywhere. Large ones, small ones, each were dancing to its own rhythm in the sky. As my eyes shifted, I could clearly see the Big Dipper and Little Dipper showing off their shape as they made their guest appearance.
Looking out over the water and up into the night sky, I felt as though it was God and me. Yes, He was displaying this spectacular production just for me. It was as though I could reach up and touch the sky. I don’t know how long this lasted, but I felt as if I was in a timeless zone. No distractions or interruptions plagued my thoughts.
